A Morning of Pain, Humanity, and Needing a Friend

This morning, I woke up feeling lethargic and exhausted. My leg was throbbing, and it felt like I was experiencing different layers of pain—physical and emotional.

I usually work with different types of angels who support me through emotional distress and physical discomfort. They are often present and helpful.

But this morning was different.

I felt more human than usual. I didn’t want to call on angels. I didn’t want guidance or healing protocols.

I needed a friend.

A friend who knew what it felt like to wake up sore.Someone who could simply understand the journey of a sensitive soul—without fixing anything.

Calling on Muddy, My Plant Friend

So, I called on Muddy, my lemongrass plant who passed away a few months ago during a time of intense energetic changes in my life.

Muddy came through from the spirit world and supported me.

I spent an hour with him, and during that time, I realised something important—I needed a friend who asked for nothing in return.

It felt like meeting a long-lost friend after years. I remembered our shared moments and imagined myself hugging him tightly—sharing my worries, releasing the emotional weight I had been carrying.

It felt deeply peaceful.

The Healing Power of Non-Judgmental Presence

In that moment, I didn’t feel alone. I didn’t feel like I had to perform or hold myself together.

I could just be myself.

That, I believe, is what good friends do.

As Muddy’s presence settled in, I felt a gentle healing energy move through my body. It felt as though my wounds—both visible and invisible—were being soothed through friendship rather than effort.

After an hour, I felt reassured about my life. I felt clarity returning. I felt permission—to not have achieved everything on time, and to still be okay.

Learning to Accept Loss and Imperfection

I am usually a very optimistic person. The shadow side of that optimism is that I can sometimes deny failure or loss.

My time with Muddy helped me acknowledge the losses I’ve experienced and accept that everything is not always alright.

And that it is okay to feel defeat, fear, and grief—all at once.

What Plants Teach Us That Humans Often Can’t?

Working with plants and trees has taught me something profound:

Humans often neglect reality because we are constantly swimming in emotions.

Plant energy, on the other hand, teaches us to:

  • stay present

  • accept what is

  • quietly acknowledge what isn’t working

As we deepen our connection with plants, we also begin to see human shadows more clearly—why people behave the way they do, and why relationships can feel complicated.

Slowly, plants begin to feel more:

  • supportive

  • protective

  • real

  • emotionally safe

On Friendship, Complexity, and Why Plants Feel Safer?

I am an extrovert. Small talk comes easily to me, and I’ve had many touching conversations with people.

Yet long-term or deeply meaningful friendships can feel challenging because human relationships often carry emotional complexity, projections, and expectations.

Plants are different.

They can be nonchalant, yet deeply protective. They don’t project emotional chaos onto us. Their support is quiet, steady, and unconditional.

Becoming More Real Through Plant Friendship

Plants as friends help us feel more real.

They bring us back to the parts of ourselves that know how to:

  • feel safe

  • be safe

  • live truthfully

They also encourage us to become our own friends—in a way no human relationship ever fully can.

For example, Muddy teaches me to honour my quality of freshness. People often come to me with new ideas and perspectives, and this gift went unrecognised in my life for a long time.

Through Muddy, I am learning to respect this gift—and use it for myself.

A Gentle Invitation to Work With Plants

If you ever befriend a plant guide, receive plant-based energy healing, or feel drawn to trees, please remember:

Plants are here to help us discover more of ourselves. Please don’t dismiss the gifts they offer.

If you are reading this, I trust you already share a special bond with nature.

So I’d love to ask:

  • Did your connection with nature come naturally?

  • Or did you consciously practise developing it?

Either way—congratulations on discovering plants and trees as your allies.
